<em>In vitro</em> anti-lipid peroxidation and anti-<em>Candidal </em>potentials of different betel leaf varieties

Betel leaf (Piper betel L.) is an important plant being widely consumed worldwide as well used in traditional medicine. The present study aims to evaluate the anti-lipid peroxidation and anti-Candida potentials of different varieties extracts. Three India (Kolkata Variety, Varanasi Mysore Variety) were peroxidation, extracts (ethyl acetate, acetone, methanol). Total Phenolic Content (TPC) Flavonoid (TFC) found be higher ethyl acetate extract all hence selected for medicinal potential evaluation. variety exhibited antioxidant free radical scavenging properties IC50 value 179.90 ± 2.98 μg/mL 319.52 4.00 respectively. with 51.54 1.81 has slightly high over (IC50 61.67 2.92 μg/mL) standard butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) 276.33 15.20 μg/mL. oral lotion disinfectant formulation showed activity a dose-dependent fashion was than that drug fluconazole inhibition zone 15mm having 12mm. confirmed also leaf.
